I was hoping to shoot a concert that was being held at UWP last night, but it was cancelled due to rain. A image I shot there last year won a prize in a photo contest, so I was hoping to shoot another concert. Mostly though, I was hoping for more shots for this teamphotoblog challenge.

So I wasn't planning on being an official part of teamphotoblog.com, but since I'm now listed on the site I'll give it a go. 30 photos in 30 days. It's an overwhelming thought, but it's time to give the Nikon a workout.

Today the family and I headed over to Dodgeville, Wisconsin to a favorite location of ours, Governor Dodge State Park. This is a photo of Stephen's Falls, which isn't much of a waterfall. Due to the drought this summer, it's even less waterfall like. It's still a nice piece of planet though.

Platteville Second Street Fire

Last weekend a fire broke out in the oldest building in Platteville, WI. 9.5 hours later the building was considered a likely total loss. Many people know the building as the home of Chicago's Best, but I'll always remember it as the home of the Windsor.

In other news, a few folks are trying a photo-a-day for the month of September. Count me in for day 1.

This is another photo from the Milwaukee County Zoo. This image was tough to create, since I made the background black. To get the detail I wanted in the gorilla, I had to drop the levels on him otherwise it looked to gray and fake. This photo was actually pretty Phhotoshop intensive since I had to recreate part of the gorilla. Can you tell which part? Why?

I was back in Milwaukee this week, so I stopped by the Milwaukee County Zoo again. I only had a little time, but this was the first time I was able to see the giraffes indoors. It was really nice to be so close.
